Vehicle Description So it turns out that trucks make pretty cool rods, as this 1955 Chevy 3100 so ably demonstrates.
All the usual tricks work here, and with a strong-running 350 under the hood and an overdrive transmission, what you get when you're done is a fast, fun, and surprisingly practical hauler that will attract a ton of attention wherever it goes.
First of all, the electric blue paint is an eyeball magnet that grabs your attention without beating you over the head.
Enjoy being subtle and staying under the radar with this one, but once you stop expect to be the center of attention, because it looks like a million bucks.
Fortunately, it's more than up to all that scrutiny, with great details and excellent workmanship and even though it's been driven a bit, it still looks spectacular.
The bodywork, which was already dramatic right out of the box, looks even better with a semi-monochromatic look that works rather well.
Those gorgeous bumpers that are directly descended from the passenger car lineup to give the '55 Chevy trucks a much more finished look, and it works extremely well here.
The bed is meant to be utilized and includes a lock box for your tools.
Don't be afraid to put this one to work! The interior has been given a full makeover as well, and the working-class accommodations have been replaced by two-tone button-tufted vinyl.
The bench seat is a natural fit in the 3100's cab and wears a custom-stitched seat cover that has a definite '50s flair.
Light gray carpets are the right and keep it from being too dark, and the color-matched door panels have been as nicely finished as the bodywork.
The instrument panel has been stuffed full of restored factory gauges, which are joined by a pair of auxiliary dials on the left.
Under-dash A/C utilizes R134a refrigerant, and even though it's not currently blowing cold, it's easy to service and it's so nicely integrated into the overall design that you may not even notice it at first glance, which is entirely the point.
There's also a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the original slot under the center grille, and finishing it off is a late-model Chevrolet truck steering wheel atop a tilt column, so it's easy to get comfortable.
A built 350 cubic inch small block has been nestled into the engine bay and while it isn't dressed for show, service access is very good and the hardware is well-proven.
A 4-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake manifold, and modern ignition system make it reliable as well as fun to drive, and upgrades like a modern alternator, dual reservoir master cylinder, power disc brakes, and power steering mean you can take it anywhere, anytime.
Underneath, there are a pair of long-tube headers and a custom exhaust system that dumps just ahead of the rear wheels and sounds fantastic, while a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission spins a 10-bolt rear end.
Shiny American Racing aluminum wheels wear fat 255/60/15 Goodyear radials that fill the big fenders just right.
Trucks like this don't happen by accident and aren't available very often.
Take this opportunity to get a great one and call now!.
