Aviation Technical Systems Specialist

Incumbent will serve as a Safety Management Specialist in the Central Service Center, Quality Control Group, Technical Evaluations Team.Supports National Airspace (NAS) Safety Management Systems (SMS) activities.Communicates audit findings and implications to all levels of management.Assists in capturing approved safety requirements (mitigations) and controls and monitors their implementation in the NAS.Applies comprehensive technical knowledge of the NAS to develop improvements in the Safety Management Systems (SMS) process, hazard analysis, and assessment.Represents the Service Center as a senior technical point of contact on SMS issues throughout the Air Traffic Organization (ATO).Facilitates and leads diverse section of stakeholders through the Safety Management Systems process.Travel up to 50% may be required. Candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level (FV-I or FG/GS-13) that is typically in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE may include, but is not limited to:
Knowledge and experience in the design, development, operations, maintenance, performance, and evaluation of the NAS. This specialized experience includes:
ATO NAS changes that affect the safety of air traffic procedures and standards; experience with airspace changes, new operating procedures, Letters of Agreement, facility directives, coordinating special operations or traffic management; and experience as a Staff/Support Specialist in an air traffic field facility, Service Center, or Headquarters is highly desired.QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.SPECIAL NOTE CONCERNING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
