Aeronautical Information Specialist

Serves as technical specialist with full responsibility for planning, sequencing, directing, and evaluating assigned projects related to the National Airspace System (NAS).Provides technical direction and oversight for large-project implementation such as Optimization of Airspace and Procedures in the Metroplex (OAPM).Serves as the principle advisor to the OSG Team Manager for activities of large-project team membersEstablishes and maintains effective communications with the aviation industry, with regions, centers and other FAA offices; and with other affected departments and agencies of governments, both foreign and domestic in an effort to further the understanding, support and coordination of assigned program responsibilities.May be required to perform duties as they relate to one or more of the following program areas:
Design, development and maintenance of Instrument Flight Procedures (IFPs) and related publications; Coordination and integration of IFPs in the NAS; Collection and verification of aeronautical data.Recommends and qualify airports for development, amendment, and cancellation of instrument approach procedures.Accomplishes regional airspace and airport space analysis (AAA) studies to determine proposal's effect on the NAS.Applies knowledge of FAA's policies and objectives to identify, define and organize work for multiple work activities.Serves as the technical advisor to the Agency Lines of Business within incumbents assigned to the program area.Provides advice, counsel or instruction on work matters.Identifies potential issues and proposes recommendations for preventative action.Assures that activities are efficiently carried out and that program objectives are being effectively accomplished.Assures uniformity and consistency of performance and adherence to national and regional policies, standards, systems, and procedures.Applies knowledge of specific Terminal/EnRoute Instrument Flight Procedures (TERPS). To qualify for this position, applicants must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FV-I or FG/GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized Experience includes, but not limited to:
Experience must have involved the design and development of Instrument Flight Procedures (IFPs); coordination and integration of IFPs in the NAS; collecting and verifying aeronautical data; applying knowledge of specific Terminal and En Route Procedures (TERPS) criteria, and knowledge of the FAA policies and objectives with the Instrument Flight Procedures Program.
