Mechanical Engineer
Job Description :
This position will support the F-35 Propulsion and Thermal Analysis team as a thermal analysis engineer. This person will be part of a team responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level thermal design and analysis for the F-35 Program, at the aircraft and subsystem level, using standardized processes and tools (Matlab/Simulink, SINDA/G, SINDA/FLUINT, Patran). This includes analysis of the thermal integration between aircraft subsystems and fluid systems as well as performing comprehensive modelling of the entire aircraft thermal system and structure.
Responsible for analysis of test data in order to complete thermal model correlation and validation, Results will be finalized in technical reports. Generation of predictions and assessment of proposed design change variations on aircraft thermal environment may also be expected.
Other related responsibilities include providing technical memos and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews; presenting resultant design and analysis data to design/engineering team, customer technical representatives, and management when required; working interactively with diverse engineering disciplines in a fast-paced environment to meet Program requirements.
Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance
Basic Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or aeronautical/aerospace engineering.
Educational or work experience in thermal related studies or areas.
Desired skills
Demonstrated proficiency in computational thermal modeling and analysis tools.
Demonstrated proficiency in thermal modeling and analysis tools (Matlab/Simulink, SINDA/G, SINDA/FLUINT, or Patran).
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
A self starter with good communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
