Quality Assurance Analyst
Description
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst for our team to plan and execute application testing activities. This role works closely with the project and development teams, product owners and other business owners throughout the software development life cycle to test the design, development and implementation of our systems. This role is located in Fort Worth, Texas.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Assists in the analyzing of project requirements and design; Works complex testing assignments
Develops comprehensive test strategies, plans, scripts, and other related test documents for a broad range of systems and applications; Documents evolution of testing scripts for future replication
Setup and maintain development and product test environment for testing
Creates test data to thoroughly test positive and negative program logic
Executes test scripts according to application requirements documentation; Logs defects and identifies course of action
Conducts a range of quality-control tests and analysis to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements; manual testing of web based, client server and mainframe applications
Documents, evaluates and researches test results; Documents findings and performs root cause analyses to provide recommended improvements; Retests software corrections to ensure problems are resolved
Review and approve systems installation packages to ensure that adequate testing and approvals have occurred
Participate as QA representative on a project teams
Participate in/conduct documentation test case peer reviews as appropriate
Independently recommends solutions and improvements to existing systems, processes and procedures; collaborates with other areas in technology on solutions
Monitors products for conformance to standards and procedures; Identifies risks and recommends solutions
Gathers, maintains and creates reports on quality metrics
Verifies traceability in project work products
Operates within the documented policies and procedures of the organization and is accountable for ensuring those processes and procedures are followed on assigned initiatives
Requirements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
5-10 years of experience in quality assurance or equivalent experience in information systems. Knowledge of testing strategies and methodologies. Specific experience in testing and analysis for web-based and/or client server, mainframe, and windows applications as well as database environments
Working knowledge of SQL Server databases, ability to write SQL queries and demonstrated data analysis skills
Exhibits sound understanding of concepts and principles in own technical area and a basic knowledge of these elements in other areas
Makes evaluative judgments based on analysis of factual information in complicated and novel situations
Excellent written and verbal communication with an ability to clearly and thoroughly communicate testing priorities and complex information to cross functional team including business and development team
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work within an environment of tracking issues and liaising with multiple parties to facilitate resolution
Ability to think, organize, plan and analyze logically
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality
Demonstrated ability to find creative and innovative solutions to issues and day to day challenges
Ability to work independently on more complex initiatives
Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products
Desirable - insurance industry experience (preferably Credit Insurance/Debt Protection), working knowledge of XyberNET Insurance applications, Subversion, Visual Studio, ServiceNow, .Net, DTS/SSIS/SSAS, and TSO
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education/experience

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
