Construction Project Mgr

Description: The Construction Project Mgr provides leadership and planning assistance in the implementation of renovations and facility modernization in compliance with TDLR, TAS, TDH, local/state/federal building code regulations. This job is also responsible for the implementations of renovation work with the Construction Superintendent and contractors such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general construction of a project.
Typical Duties
1. Provides technical assistance to the department Directors, Managers and Administrative staff having program responsibilities for such projects.
2. Coordinates with Architects, Engineers, and other consultants on facility design and construction issues.
3. Coordinates activities of construction personnel and hospital support departments so as to provide renovated facilities that are fully operational and ready for occupancy.
4. Enforces contract requirements for all construction contracts and monitor compliance of the same.
5. Responsible for ensuring that all contract agreements, bids, invoices and insurance requirements associated with renovation/construction are properly developed and processed in a timely manner.
6. Becomes familiar with plans, specifications, and other contract documents for all renovation projects and attend construction meetings with Architects, Engineers, and contracts as required.
7. Evaluates actual progress in relation to approval project schedules and notify the Construction Program Coordinator of an event detrimental to the timely completion of the work.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education and
Experience:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
10 plus years of experience in supervising or managing construction projects.
Preferred Education and
Experience:
2 plus years of training in the skilled areas pertinent to construction project management, i.e., fundamentals of project management, estimating, and change order control, etc.).
Experience working Construction projects in a healthcare environment.
Some college education.
Graduate of a formal trade school specializing in Construction Management.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
Current driver's license in the State of Texas.
