We have an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant in our downtown Fort Worth office.
This position will provide heavy administrative and legal support for 2-3 attorneys.
Experience in estate planning is preferred.
You must answer both pre-screening questions to be considered for the position.
Basic Function Performs general administrative and legal support duties for multiple attorneys.
Communicates with attorneys, clients, and court employees.
Schedules appointments and maintains calendars.
Prepares legal documents and general correspondence.
Assists with probate matters and entity formation.
Maintains files and documents.
Supports non-billable activities.
Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
Legal assistant or paralegal certification is a plus.
Essential Job Functions Provides general administrative and legal support for multiple attorneys.
Communicates with attorneys, clients, and court employees by telephone and email daily.
Manages attorney calendars, including all appointments, court deadlines, and meetings.
Prepares and proofreads correspondence, marketing materials, and other written content.
Drafts basic engagement letters, wills, trusts, and ancillary documents for attorneys.
Schedules probate hearings, drafts and e-files pleadings, and assists with probate inventories.
Performs entity formation activities, including drafting and filing of company documents.
Maintains complete files to expedite retrieval of information and ensures confidentiality.
Assists attorneys with CLE compliance, inputs time, and performs other non-billable activities.
Exhibits in-person, regular, reliable, and predictable attendance during business hours.
Required Experience Worked in a general administrative support role performing office & clerical job duties.
Operated in a fast-paced office environment where organization is a must.
Communicated effectively through speaking, writing, listening, and responding to others.
Prepared professional correspondence using appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation.
Utilized Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook, at an intermediate level.
Exhibited customer service skills and managed client expectations appropriately.
Used time effectively and prioritized job duties to meet deadlines.
Displayed a sense of urgency and was responsive to the needs of clients and coworkers.
Exhibited strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with attention to detail.
Maintained confidentiality and exercised discretion and good judgment.
Preferred Experience Worked 1-3 years in estate planning and probate.
Supported 2-3 attorneys in a professional setting.
Drafted basic engagement letters, wills, trusts, and ancillary documents.
Scheduled probate hearings, drafted and e-filed pleadings, and assisted with probate inventories.
