I personally love it because it gives me the opportunity to truly know my patient and family, to provide support, and give the best care possible be it a chronic illness or complex disability.
Being a nurse in home care is a fulfilling and rewarding experience like no other because you can build a bond, and give one on one care to assist, guide, and instruct the patient and their family to reach goals set for medically fragile patients that they would not otherwise experience in any facility or hospital.
Home care nursing is a dynamic field that requires a blend of clinical and social skills to optimize patient/family-centered care and is very rewarding.
