The Insectary Production Assistant is responsible for performing various tasks related to producing AgBiTech's biological insecticides, including machine operation, quality control, and general production procedures.
The Insectary Production Assistant will work closely with the team to ensure smooth operations and timely production output.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
You'll love working here if you are able to do this following:
Work closely with the team to maintain a large colony of moths and caterpillars, including detailed processes to support each stage of the insect life cycle.
Operate customized equipment and machinery used to undertake various processes of insect rearing.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPS) and instructions to maintain consistency and efficiency in production processes.
Accurately record production data and assist in maintaining production records for reporting purposes.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, the insectary, and the production areas.
Collaborate with the team to ensure processes are completed efficiently and meet company standards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to identify and implement process improvements.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storing tools and equipment properly, and disposing of waste in accordance with company guidelines.
Adhere to all workplace health and safety requirements.
Support other production and manufacturing tasks as needed.
Develop and maintain strong collaborations with AgBiTech colleagues.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred, but not required.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently, alone or as part of a team.
Basic math skills, including the ability to measure and calculate dimensions accurately.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPS).
Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to get along well with others.
Ability to contribute to process improvement.
Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods of time, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Clear and effective communication skills.
Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
May be required to frequently lift up to 60 lbs.
Comfortable wearing a hooded respirator in a warm/humid environment for prolonged period of time.
Hand dexterity and strength.
