2 Full-time 11 hours ago Full Job Description The Financial Counselor will financially screen patients/legal representative in accordance with the Financial Policy.
This position requires knowledge of tasks performed in the various areas of Patient Registration and Single Billing Office.
This position requires knowledge of state, federal and system financial assistance programs.
This position also requires timely completion, preparation, and deployment of legal documents, and financial assistance applications, ie.
Medicaid, CSHCN, CCMC FQ applications.
The Financial Counselor is responsible for maintaining knowledge of JCAHO, HIPAA, and Patient Rights & Responsibilities.
Financial Counselor will maintain a high degree of knowledge about Revenue Cycle drivers, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance, Limited Benefit Plans, and cost sharing plans.
The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining knowledge of the Financial Policy, Charity.
Financial Counselors are responsible for securing authorizations and referrals for all emergency admits and all scheduled procedures both Inpatient and Outpatient.
Knowledge of CPT codes and all relevant NPI and TPI is essential for securing correct authorizations and referrals.
Education &
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of government programs, HMO's, PPO's, Commercial Payer's, required Minimum 3 years Hospital, Financial Counseling, or Physician Office Experience required Strong verbal and written communication skills Typing and Computer experience required Knowledge of ESRD, preferred Bi-lingual preferred Licensure and/or Certification:
CPR certification required within 30 days of employment.
