Exempt Position Purpose Serves in a broad range of duties as an advisor to campus administration and a liaison to law enforcement services within the Fort Worth Independent School District, in relationship to juvenile services and safety and security issues.
Assists in providing a safe and orderly learning environment conducive to the education and welfare of all students.
Serves as Area Advisor to a pyramid of campuses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Serves as a liaison to courts, Fort Worth Police Department, and youth-serving agencies.
Maintains current knowledge of school board policy, Texas Education Code, Texas Family Code and other statutes involving students.
Provides reports and information to appropriate contacts at home-school, juvenile probation, Fort Worth Police Department, Student Discipline & Placement, and Safety & Security operations.
Responds to citizen concerns about neighborhood youth problems.
Responds to calls from area schools to assist in dealing with law, policy, and security issues, as well as crisis situations.
Responds to volatile incidents to assist in neutralizing situations for the safety of all parties and initiates reports as needed.
Maintains communication between incident location and central administration.
Counsels with students, parents, and administrators when school policy and/or law violations have occurred.
Refers students to youth-serving agencies; issues Texas Education Code warnings to violators.
Maintains one's mental health and physical stamina as necessary to perform the job.
Exercises good judgment interpreting laws and regulations and with all communications.
Participates in staff meetings in assigned schools and other schools as requested.
Transports students and or District employees in District vehicles as needed.
Assists administrators with the use of Internet Protocol (IP) surveillance system.
Develops Campus Monitors' work schedules for an assigned pyramid of campuses; communicates job expectations and assignments.
Observes the Campus Monitors' daily work performance and records observations as appropriate.
Completes the annual work performance evaluations of Campus Monitors.
Mediates and conducts dispute resolution with campus staff as needed.
Consults with Campus Monitors on all pertinent District issues.
Safety Ensures tools and equipment are in safe operating condition.
Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

Minimum Required
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Certification/License:
None.
Experience:
4 years' as a classroom teacher or in law enforcement required; 5 years' preferred; Experience working with high-risk students preferred.
Language:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in some settings.
INSURABILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL DRIVERS Must be at least 21 years old.

NO vehicular assault, manslaughter, or homicide.
NO operating a vehicle with suspended or revoked driver's license.
NO reckless driving, speed contests, drag racing, or highway racing.
NO use of a vehicle in commission of a felony.
NO operating a vehicle without owner's permission (unauthorized use or grand theft).
NO permitting an unlicensed person to drive.
NO speeding more than 20 mph over the posted speed limit.
NO history of a conviction in a commercial or personal motor vehicle.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
