Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for selling services through networking and sales activities outside of the office including prospecting, relationship building, solution selling, proposal creation, negotiation and closing new business.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Anticipates the needs of the industry, analyzes trends and implements proactive strategies Identifies prospects and develops sales strategies to secure new business.
This may include sales calls, competitive analysis, coordination of presentations and proposals, in-office demonstrations, direct mail campaigns, and follow up activity coordinated within that plan/approach.
Assist with the research and development of strategies and plans for identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project developments Travels to call on regular and prospective customers Conducts presentations at events and industry trade association meetings demonstrating products and services Work with executives to plan, conduct, and follow up on sales calls.
Maintain a close working relationship with Corporate office to drive activity/results through the leveraging and consistent application of sales processes and initiatives.
Facilitate the effective presentation of submittals in response to requests from prospective clients Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
Works closely with Operations to develop customer service standards, feedback methods (surveys), escalation procedures for complaints, etc Competencies:
Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional customer service skills Ability to work in a flexible and production orientated environment Effective decision making and problem solving skills Proficient to advanced PC Skills including (but not limited to) MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, email, internet and customized database management Must be able to read and/or interpret numbers and letters correctly Must work with numbers to calculate timeframe and evaluate costs and losses Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents required.
Ability to demonstrate significant attention to detail and understanding of contracts, pricing and implementation strategies Strong project and performance management, analytical, planning and problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Experience, skills and desire to contribute to and drive business strategy.
Relationship management; ability to establish and maintain credibility with business constituents at all levels.
