The Product Manager serves as the Company's product category expert and is responsible for developing and implementing strategic product line plans including the development and reporting of performance metrics and activities associated with planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle.
This individual must maintain a keen awareness of customer needs, competitors' product offerings, customer's buying preferences, and competitive advantage/disadvantage.
To be successful this individual must have the acumen to lead cross-functional teams to drive product innovation and growth.
DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Define product strategy including product diversification, features, and options; Translate product strategy into detailed requirements.
Work very closely with sales, engineering, operations, and finance to ensure product line performance targets are achieved within budgets and timelines.
Leads the development, execution, and communication of a select product portfolio.
Manages the product development, testing, and production readiness via the stage gate process.
Directly interfaces with key customers, partners, internal stakeholders, and prospects to further define the product offerings.
Provides competitive analysis including analyzing data, market trends, identifies market opportunities, advises on pricing and promotional decisions, and provides recommendations and guidance.
Act as Customer Advocate and Voice of The Customer; understand the aspects of a customer's business which applies to our product offerings by capturing and articulating market problems and translating them into market requirements including design, performance needs, features, options, and value propositions.
Leads the creation and development of new products, performing ongoing market research, tracking customer satisfaction, and measuring product success.
Review and adjust inventory levels and product production schedules to maintain product availability.
Participates in industry associations to become familiar with the major contractors/dealers in the industry; product planning, attend tradeshows and events for the specific markets.
Thrives in an environment of passion and intelligence, leveraging resources and building relationships.
5 years of Product Management experience Knowledge and experience specializing in the areas of innovative design within manufacturing of consumer products required; commercial furniture industry experience strongly preferred Experience building and growing successful product management and development teams within consumer products or B2B product environments Experience creating and executing product business case initiatives and strategic planning Innovation mindset with road mapping skills and strategic planning expertise Excellent presentation skills Deep knowledge of business intelligence systems Understanding of portfolio products or product lines and branding Bachelor's Degree required; PMP Certification preferred Product Development & Management Certification preferred WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works in an office environment and due to the nature of our business Is exposed to manufacturing operations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May occasionally be required to lift, up to 25lbs.
DIRECT REPORTS:
This position does not have direct reports.
